What Is AI Virtual Try-On?
A plain explanation of the technology that shows you wearing clothes you haven't bought yet.

The Core Idea
AI virtual try-on takes a photo of you and a photo of a garment, and generates a new image showing you wearing that garment - not a cartoon overlay, but a photorealistic render that accounts for your actual body, pose, and lighting.
How It's Different From Older "Try-On" Tools
Earlier virtual fitting tools often used simple 2D overlays - stretching a flat product image over a photo, which rarely looked convincing. Modern AI try-on uses image generation models that understand fabric, fit, and lighting well enough to produce a result that looks like an actual photograph.
What It's Good At
It's genuinely useful for judging fit, colour, and overall vibe - does this cut suit your body, does this colour work with your skin tone, does the overall look feel like you. These are exactly the questions a flat product photo can't answer.
Where It Still Has Limits
It can't tell you about physical fabric feel, exact sizing, or how a garment moves - those still require the real thing. Think of it as a very informed preview, not a guarantee.
